Everstra Live Free
On-camera RTMP and RTMPS streaming for Axis cameras. Runs up to three independent streams in parallel — each with its own destination, resolution, audio source and view area. Straight from the sensor to YouTube, Facebook, Twitch or your own server. No PC, no intermediate server. Nothing phones home — no telemetry, no analytics, no account.
Now Axis-signed NEW IN 0.6.2
Everstra Live is now a digitally signed ACAP application, countersigned by Axis Communications. The camera verifies the signature against Axis’s own trust chain — from the device’s firmware up to the application — before the app runs, and it installs even on cameras configured to reject unsigned apps. That makes it ready for use in professional and corporate camera networks.
What it does
- Streams H.264 video from the camera's own sensor to any RTMP or RTMPS endpoint
- Up to 3 independent streams in parallel — each with its own destination, stream key, resolution, audio source and e-mail notifications. Start and stop each one separately
- Own view area per stream — Axis cameras let you define view areas freely (cropped regions of the sensor), so a single camera can serve three completely different framings at once: a wide shot to YouTube, a tight crop to your own server, a third framing somewhere else
- Encrypted streaming (RTMPS) — RTMP over TLS, with full certificate validation. Required by Facebook Live, recommended by YouTube. Runs over port 443, so it also works on networks where the usual RTMP port 1935 is blocked
- Remuxes the video stream (no re-encoding) — minimal CPU and power load
- Automatic reconnect with configurable exponential backoff or fixed delay
- Silent audio track by default; supports uploaded audio files (internal storage or SD card) and network audio URLs
- E-mail notifications for stream events: unexpected stop, restart threshold exceeded, and staged reminders when you manually stop and forget to restart
- Web UI accessible directly from the camera's settings page — no separate app or login required
- Settings export and import (secrets excluded from export)
- Dark mode
- Recording to SD card — record the stream you are already sending, straight to the camera's SD card, with browsing, export and deletion handled by Everstra Capture
- Start stream automatically when the camera boots
- Privacy manager: every connection Live opens, at a glance — exportable, always visible
Requirements
- Axis camera with ACAP support. AXIS OS 11.11 (LTS 2024) or later — verified on AXIS OS 11.11 and 12.x. Older firmware (e.g. 11.2) lacks the required glibc version and the app will not start
- Architecture: aarch64 (most current models) or armv7hf — see the list of supported models
- An RTMP or RTMPS stream destination (YouTube Live, Facebook Live, Twitch, your own RTMP/RTMPS server, …)
- A license key — issued free of charge, bound to camera hardware
